I'm so jealous! I miss antiquing. Just learned this week that there is a new mall opening in a nearby city. The gal I have had do some chalk painting for me is going to have a booth there! This is an old (revitalized) historical area of a city. There used to be some wonderful antique shops and we would go up quite often, but in recent years many of the stores have closed. So happy this mall is opening and hope we will be able to visit soon. Virus rate is still too high in our area. I have not done any in person shopping since mid March.

Masks were mandatory yesterday, as well as distancing. I kept myself from picking everything up and touching stuff like I normally would. 😄

It was our first “big” outing in so long. Was really nice. :)

You probably should still not pick up things the way you used to but one of the Asian groceries I went to last week had gloves as mandatory along with masks. If there are multiple shops you might want to have several pairs along with a plastic bag to put the used ones into.

Best way to remove gloves is to roll them down your hands from the inside rather than just grabbing from the outside and pulling down. Takes a little practice.

Lord help us ... we may BOTH have just gone down the proverbial rabbit hole! I really like the human figurals, and that Polynesian piece is calling my name too! A gentleman I used to work with once had an assignment on the Ivory Coast and when he retired, he gave me a few of the items he had picked up while there ... carved human statues and some really cool iron bells. I love that stuff -- it just seems so exotic to me! I think you "need" the antelope! I liked that one a lot.

Late to this, but definitely looks like banana leaves, not bark. I've seen lots of craft uses for banana leaves. I have some nifty little animal figures wrapped with strips of banana fiber - sort of like these but larger:
