Comfortable bistro/cafe chair?

Can anyone recommend a bistro/cafe chair that is comfortable to sit in for an hour+?

i have a small kitchen nook and recently bought a small marble bistro table. I’m currently using my existing ladder back chairs that are not comfortable *on my back* after 1/2 hour. (So a seat cushion is not enough—it’s the back) Are any of those cute cafe/bistro style chairs comfortable? i feel like I need an extended test drive but a lot of stores (PB, C&B) charge 10% shipping, so if they don’t work, I’m out a chunk of change plus the hassle to return. FWIW I looked online at World Market and Target and came up empty. PB has two+ cute choices but they are back ordered and there’s that shipping fee. FWIW I don’t hate all wood backed chairs. I have a mission style dining room set that’s fine. But I sat in someone’s Windsor chair and that was torture. Any advice? Thanks!

Comfortable backs, all take cushions and you could even add a cushion at your back. Shop on line and see delivery and return policies

What's comfortable for one person may not be good for you. Find a store and sit on everything. Seating is highly personal.

Agreed—that would be ideal. Unfortunately some of the styles are not in the stores. Plus due to covid (and my pre-existing conditions) it seems unwise to hang out in a store for 30-60 mins to test out chairs. :(

My Target still had these on the floor in patio for you to try.

These are from Target also

These below from Target are nylon so they will give when you sit in them. Free Shipping from Target and you can return them to the store.

@BeverlyFLADeziner thank you! I had seen those ones (the second ones down) but wasn’t sure, since they are metal. I’m going to sleep on it, but I may order them in the morning. As you say, free shipping and if I go early in the day, the returns are quick. Thank you! (If the metal doesn’t work, I may try the nylon ones. Thanks)

So this is a chair I’m kind of in love with. Do you think there’s any chance it would be comfortable? I had seen in the store ages ago (when I was looking for something else) but now they say It’s not in the store.

@Maureen the ones you posted are cute. That company has a 25% restocking fee plus shipping both ways. :(

Thanks @tgb1 for the other idea and your experience that they are comfortable. So hard to know!

I just did a chat w/ C&B and they don’t take furniture returns in the store. This means if the chairs don’t work out, I have to pay return shipping. What do people do? I wish I could see them in person and sit on it but they aren’t available in any more. :(

From what I can see C&B has free shipping and a 25% restocking free if item is not returned within their set timeframe - think it’s 30 days and/or not in original condition. May want to verify as I read quickly. They are having a sale and I quickly saw this one. There may be others you like. Given the rounded solid back of this one, it may be comfortable

@tgb1 thanks again for posting your photo. That maybe the perfect one. The C&B Vitner is more farmhouse than bistro.

I’ve never bought from Ballard before. Do you know

a) is the X-back of your chair bentwood (not metal)?

b) do they offer free shipiping often? They don’t have it now (I can get 20% off) but RetailMeNot showed expired promo codes for free shipping, including one for 25% off + free shipping. Not sure how common that is.
