I've been enjoying photographing bees in our back yard in Los Altos, CA 94022.

This bumble-sized bee with yellow spots on the abdomen may be a "Wool Carder Bee". I can't find a similar image online.

I think so. It's actually the European Wool Carder bee, which is why you couldn't find a picture, probably. Look here for deets: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthidium_manicatum

I forgot to say yesterday that your pictures are amazing. I have tried to photograph bees and only gotten blurs (except when a bumble bee is parked on a flower). Yours could be in a Bee Guide, they are so clear. Really well done. Could you post other pictures you have taken? I'd love to see more of your bee work.
