Name That Plant!

Partridge Pea Or Rattlebox?

This wildflower was found growing down by the river at a park. I think they grew up to maybe ~7' tall or so... I thought it was Partridge Pea...but I think those max out at ~3'? And Rattlebox seems to have dangling flower strings, not singles? So, what is this?

Sesbania herbacea (Coffeeweed), looks like a good match, thanks!

I wonder why they call it Coffeeweed, though?

Seems like the main use is as a nitrogen-fixing legume...but nothing about serving as a coffee substitute?

They are good bank builders in the are that washes out in a riparian zone. are with rattle box. They grow extensive roots aND THEN die off and grow agin the next year or keep growing if the winters are not that cold. A flash flood will wipe them out but then they grow again.
