The picture shows the water feature, but your question pertains to the Fire feature. I just want to make sure that you know that I am providing costs on the fire feature. My husband didn't have much time and asked me to get quotes. When I starting calling places looking for estimates, most companies thought I was nuts and finding someone to quote on a custom piece was difficult. I had estimates that ranged from $29,000 to $35,000. At the end of the day my husband built it. It is 8' W x 6'H. We spent approx $1,100 for 6' burner and starter, $400 for metal studding to build the frame and plywood for the form work to build the concrete slabs. And lastly, approx. $300 in concrete. Oh and approx $200 in stainless steel. The hardest part was the labour. It was built on site and we didn't have much room to work with. It took him about a week to complete the unit and polish the concrete.

Wow, looks stunning. You should start selling plans of it. I live in cambridge, on and would definitely be interested.

I can't help but keep coming back to look at your pictures. Love it so much. We are just moving into a new home and I want this look. Love the mixture of stone and wood. OBSESSED with your fireplace. I was going to spend $3000 for a concrete bowl!!! (not anymore) Where did you get your burner and starter from?

it was bought on line at www.livingdirect.com do a search for 'Fire Stainless Steel' they have a number of them. We bought 2. One was a square unit for our 36" fire pit and the other was a 5' unit for our large fireplace. $3,000 for a bowl is nuts. I suspect that our large fireplace costs around $3,000 for materials, maybe less, but it was a lot of labour. I was surprised at what it takes to build from concrete forms, then to polish them down to look like glass. Lots of work, but I love how it looks. Good luck
