I would use fish emulsion or kelp as a foliar spray. I am careful about anything else!

Bob you’re very lucky to live close to a fert company I have to get the jacks pro fertilizer shipped here that’s all I use now a sprinkle on every single watering. Although let me know if the foliar spray works out since my new Seville sour orange tree came very very yellow!

using a surfactant like the one I use, the one in the little flask, it help again for the leaves to uptake after the leaves been dry. Will report my findings. I use about a gallon for all my tree’s, about 40. A little sprayer is all you need if you only have a few tree’s. A fine mist is used for both sides. I don’t stop spraying till it’s all gone, about 20 minutes. I spray at around 5 pm.

This is just one application and only if I see a sign that it might help. I will do it in December, 2 months before bloom in my growroom an app for more Strong bloom come spring.

The object is, smaller trees, heavier loads, soils to support. Everything is available, finding the results might be more difficult. My idea for a perfect size citrus tree is not more than 6 feet, 5 would be better, so my growroom would not be so cramp. Might have to send a few to the burn pile.

After a week of Foliar Spray, most responded well, cannot complain.

When I water I usually end up drenching the leaves and so some do get in as foliar feed. But my aim is mainly to get it into the soil. You need very small amount of the stuff. It is a pound of powder that I bough for I think less than $15 years back and I think it will last at least 5 years more at the rate it gets used. It is made by the same manufacturer that makes Peters 25-5-15 that is so popular for citrus here.

Bob did you just graft the last tree it’s so healthy! I’m terrified of bare rooting always had ill effects in my trees maybe it’s how I do my bare rooting. But I agree with you small trees with tons of fruits is the goal. Have you seen the oscar Tintori videos from Italy his trees even the little little ones have huuuuuge fruits. They’re loaded and absolutely beautiful I think it’s all that Italian sun.

No, he has all the money to do whatever he wants, plenty of labor, big greenhouses. He doesn’t grow anything outdoors, so no Italian sun. Just greenhouse fruits. Yours will be the same but better, wind blowing through them in the summer, stiffer branches, plenty of stuff hanging from them, etc. Just keep on doing the way the way you have been doing, you doing great. We are watching you, don’t slack off.

I am just coming off from be out of commission for a few days, but better and thanks for starting such an awesome read and info. Can always count on you and others. I have so much to do. I re potted a few and sprayed everything down 3 times. I HATE this time of the year and I even let a few just die because I didn't want so much work this time around. It's not the amount of trees I have, it's the rsik of pests and that that I can't stand. From now on everything that can take the cold will be kept cold so no bugs, that's it. I already put the double layered plastic up on all the windows to protect the cold from coming in. Hung all the chain and set the tables up. I don't even need etra light. The easier the better right?

The only thing going in the greenhouse will be orchid and a few warm loving plants so that I don't have to find room inside. I have already threw out or given away dozens of unwanted plants. Less is best they say now..lol

What's causing your smokey skies Mike, aren't you in NY? In Phoenix we just keep hearing about the fires along the West Coast, and have our fair share of smoke blowing in from there. But I wasn't aware of any activity in the East Coast (aside from the hurricanes farther south).

mike hi! Oh no smoke there too? It’s been insane we are beating out a bunch of very polluted countries! Mike I agree except that I don’t think I want to part with any of mine lol I already gave out all my kumquats and the Calamansi but i love the rest of my collections and each one offers me something different lol I know I know I’m a hoarder Lol and now grafting has given me so much more darn ;) now I just need to get a larger greenhouse.
