What flooring would be best for a basement gym?

We are remodeling part of our unfinished basement to use as a home gym. Current floor is the concrete that the builder put down. The house is about 15 years old, we have owned it for 4. The only water issue we have had was went the sump pump died during a rainy week. By sheer luck I discovered it within a short time and plumber replaced the pump before too much water/very minor damage. Would cork be a good choice? Looking for any suggestions as this will be our first home gym. Thanks!

We got our basement gym flooring from Costco. It is a black rubbery and foam-like material that comes in 2 ft by 2 ft squares. The squares fit together like puzzle pieces. It was very inexpensive. $15-20 for a package and I think each package was 8 squares.

We intended this floor to be a temporary fix because the floor we planned to order from ProSource was back-ordered. However, we like it so much we've kept it for 3 or 4 years now.

I have seen it at Costco a few times. I think it is a seasonal item for the New Year's Resolution crowd.

Luxury Vinyl Tile which looks like wood is a good solution. The latest products are waterproof and cushioned on the back. It holds up very well over time. Armstrong makes this product as well as many other manufacturers.
