Bluestar griddle came brown

New Bluestar with a built-in griddle, only halfway through the first season and there’s a huge brown spot about 6 inches across, it feels a little stuck-on too. Is this normal for seasoning, or is there something on it that maybe didn’t come off with my scrubbing?

Alright thanks, was just surprised by the discoloration on the first seasoning, at least with cast iron I hadn’t seen that brand new

Wow that is a clean griddle! Mine looked like this within about a month of owning it. now, 8 months later it is fully seasoned and almost all dark but smooth.

Have you tried the hot water cleaning? I have a 2 year old Jenn-Air griddle that still looks brand new. Heat up to 300, pour one cup of water after it is heated, and use a scrubby sponge (I use the Dawn one), be careful it gets very hot to the touch, I use a spatula to keep my hand away from the sponge, it usually cleans up really nice and shiny. There’s a YouTube video out there for tips.

It’s over 20 years old, so open burner.

It looks good. Nice restoration. Looks like he’s done work on the right rear burner. Their fairly simple cooktops. Nice thing is no electronics no motherboards to go out, no digital display to flash a failure code. They just cook. Griddle looks great. My burner on the 30” oven went out in 2020. Ordered the part from EBAY and did it myself. The new part is on left, the old in the middle and the right a completed job. Took me about an hour. Hardest was getting the oven door off and back on. That door is heavy. I love looking at new appliances but have always loved my WOLF. I’m 76 so I’m going to stick with the tried and true.

Nice thing about this old stove is I still get to cook with my copper. Can’t do that on induction. One other thing, I forgot to mention, is, if you go with a wolf find out if that one is set up for natural gas or propane. I don’t know if you have natural gas or propane, but if it’s not set up for what you have, they’ll have to change out the orifices on the burners and the griddle.

Wow that’s quite a collection! Where do you get the copper pots from?

Queen e, I usually find them on Etsy and E-Bay. Since I use them all the time I have to make sure the tin lining is in good condition. Estate sales are a good way to find them. A few are fairly new and bought them on the Williams Sonoma site.
