I have found a few pictures of the 'mother plant'.

Is that a yellow edge around the leaf? But a solid green on the rest of the leaf? I can’t quite tell. It reminds me a little of Pineapple Punch. Check that out on the Hosta Library and see if it looks like the mother plant.

Thank you for your suggestion. The leaves are solid green without a yellow/white edge. I have checked hostalibrary and I think it can be 'Plumb Bob' ( the number of veins corresponds and the flowers of my hosta are also lavender).

To my knowledge, I live in zone 5.

Um, plumb Bob sounds like a hosta that is not readily available. Is your friend a collector?

She is not collector. I just found the photo and thought it looks quite similar. I guess I should continue my research.
