You do nor mention anything about your style , you do not have room for a barn door at all. Have you thought about just saloon type doors They are also called cafe doors .

How about a sliding barn door style on the inside of office, it would cover the alcove which you could make into a bookcase when it is open.

Heather, in answer to your question of what type of professional to look for, I'd try to find a cabinet maker. I grew up with one nearby and he made wonderful doors, cabinets, you-name-it. It might be pricey; do you have a budget set for whatever you choose?

Why can’t you have double doors? I’m confused. And depending on the height of the opening, I, too, think a fixed transom window would work well, above either solid or glass doors.

Edited to say that I saw where you said the height is 90”, so the transom is a no-go.

I noticed. Live_Wire_Oak’s writing style and type of comments (”your kitchen will cost you $75k-160k”) are unmistakable. She actually has some darn good knowledge, wide-ranging and expert, about just about everything, but you frequently have to get through the scorn first. I had wondered if Live_Wire_Oak was the former Green Designs. Green Designs was a little softer, but that was a long time ago.

Back to the doors- any custom woodworker or a good lumberyard will be able to make this for you. There are tracks that support any weight barn doors (have you seen how large actual barn doors are? Much larger than this!) but you don’t have room on the interior or exterior of this room for two barn doors. That said, hanging hinges doors in this opening will require jambs which will completely change the way the door relates to the adjacent alcove, I would be tempted to square off the door to match the other doors nearby. Or eliminate the alcove and use that wall depth for a pocket door.

What Hallett said. My son found the cost of custom arched doors so expensive that he had the opening squared off and ordered custom double doors.
