...I hope this may be of use to you... here you see 2 pictures the same, the first is the original photo which has a large file size of 3 MB. too many of these will not load on Houzz, one or two I can get away with...

..this same image has the file size drastically reduced to 617 kb, but I don't think you can see too much difference.. however it loads quickly and I could load a whole lot more of these than the one above..

..I normally set my camera to automatically take smaller size pictures, but another way you can do it is, go into your Pictures folder on your computer, where presumably you will have saved your photo from your email you sent to yourself...

..click on the picture then look at top right hand corner of photo for 3 little dots, like ... it says 'see more' if you highlight it.. click on these little dots and you see several options, one of which says ''resize''... click on that then you get several options...

Choose the one that says ''best for viewing 4MP''.. then click on it and save it to your computer... you should find it somewhere in Photos.. this has reduced your file size considerably without compromising clarity..

..it sounds complicated but is the work of a few moments in time... I'm using Windows 10... best of luck..

Most on line sites, including Houzz, work best with photos of 300 dpi size. Since I post or email most photos I take, I keep the camera set on the 300 dpi file size. They upload here, to Help Me Find-Roses, The Rose Hybridizers Association, National Gardening Association, Face Book and everywhere else I have posted anything as well as traveled via email all over without issue. Check the file size.
