Don’t gild the lily.

If I had a husband with a laser and tons of exotic wood, I would absolutely gild the lily. Something floral. Maybe a dahlia or peony. In walnut, or wenge.

I have always been partial to the classic tree of life.

Folks 48" x 7" means the bottom strip, not the large rectangle above it. OP, is that the area you have in mind?

Perhaps a word or phrase? a row of chiles, or tomatoes? a mountain range? So many possibilities, but completely dependent on your style, your tastes, and your interests. My daughter would have a scene with a canoe, but she puts canoes on everything.

Why decorate the bottom border when you have that wonderful blank square just waiting for something? But please, no "word art"!

Yes I was thinking the small strip area-AGREED NO WORD “ART” lol.We are in a wooded area but just cannot think of something that just fits us (that I’d want to put up there) and we do have some amazing pieces of Wenge (i’m hoping that’s not one of those really toxic ones when he cuts it) We used to fish a lot but not so much anymore. Hmmm dilemmas!

So hubs just playing out there(while we wait on hurricanes) and did this on a piece of porcelain tile..... hmmm I’m thinking like some geometric pattern but tiles don’t come in 7” squares do they? Just thinking out loud-Thanks all for suggestions and listening to my musings.
