Dining Table Finishing Touches

Hey all! We recently moved into our new house, and are trying to finish off decorating. We are a bit stuck on what to do with our dining table. We are trying to pick out a rug and place settings to tie everything together. I've attached a few pictures for reference, but our general color scheme is gray and blue. Our walls are a cool gray that looks blue in certain lights, while the adjacent kitchen has white countertops and grayish/brown cabinets.

We ordered some gray curtains ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C6CRBPS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) They are a bit darker in person and have a charcoal with blueish undertone colored couch.

Any help or insight as to what rugs or place settings you recommend would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

IMO you need drapes and art or sure I would get 2 more dining chairs and put the bench somewhere else I think anything but those gray drapes and Igetting the rug first can help with colors from the rug for drapes. You need min. 36’ all around the table for chairs to move in and out and IMO 48” if you want a rug. I do not think you have space for a rug in the DR but yes to one in the LR one with color in it. Any of these would work and then blue drapes and some yellow on thetable maybe some nice fresh flowers. Then go shopping for some art .

I wouldn’t be comfortable on a bench dining. Agree drapes and rug as your starting place. Art, we purchase high end as the budget allows. We don’t purchase mass produced to fill a space. No hurry to finish a space. Allow yourself time to turn this into your space, not a space cultivated by others.

It seems like the color of the dining table and sofa are fighting with each other, and those are the things you really need to tie together, more than the blue.

I pulled in warm tones (to tie in with the dining table) in the rug and artwork here.

Artwork (since I used original artworks in my mock-up, I want to credit the artists; these are for inspiration, not specific recommendations). You should choose artwork that speaks to YOU, not just choose something beccause it "goes".

Always suggest having a plan before buying individual items. For instance, I’d add a third color and rust would work well for your room, creating more interest/layering and warmth - a distressed style rug would be complimentary. I’d opt for white linen like drapery vs grey to keep space feeling fresh and light (IKEA has nice ones at a great price)

If you have room, could add a floor lamp next the couch

Suggest a console or side board on long wall with art

In regards to place settings, I’d keep it simple and compliment your chairs, but having a pattern would be really attractive and interesting
