I can save you even more than just LOST money. Get a New Zealand lemonade and you will have something well worth growing. Meyer lemons are nearly worthless and the trees are worth a whole lot less. Onegreenworld.com has the NZL on Flying dragon. I do not have any Meyer lemon Bud wood bud wood.

I am only growing Meyer because it was easy to find locally at nearby nurseries here in Northern Virginia. It's not my favorite lemon. Much prefer Eureka or Lisbon. Still, I might find a use for one.

I found the California Citrus Budwood Program to be prohibitively expensive for out-of-staters. They remove all the leaves anyway, so the scions are likely not good candidates for rooting.

For what it's worth, Harris Citrus Nursery has a Harvey lemon for $20 plus shipping if you don't live in CA, Hawaii, Louis., Ariz. or TEX. That's a pretty good price. However, 'for the sake of science' that might be too easy? LOL!

By the way, Meyer Lemons are proven to root from cuttings, so you're not really contributing much to science. Maybe you can start with a Meyer plant and when it needs trimming, you can root cuttings later on.
