Last year it was the Gold Nugget. This year I'm looking forward to trying my Shasta and Yosemite Golds. And also my Dekopon which has 3 fruit on the tree.

Mine is Meiwa kumquat with New Zealand lemonade very close but second.

I found some richer looking clay and I had to scoop it up from a parking lot it less dense and I got my seedling in it in a 5 gallon bucket ihope my bucket will give some better growth

Bob last year for me was the kiyomi tangor but this year waiting for my xie shan and Shasta gold along with the minneola and sumo! it’ll be interesting!

Mike, Xie Shan (pronounced She Shan) is a satsuma. It is an excellent tasting, free pealing satsuma.. Xie Shan has won many taste contests at large citrus shows. I have a 6 year old tree. Fruit is ready to pick around October. When I attended the Citrus Expo in Alabama, Xie Shan won that best tasting citrus contest.

I'm looking forward to my young xie shan producing next year.

Dave NoVA, since your Xie Shan is producing its very first fruit, you really cannot ascertain how good a Xie Shan fruit taste. Citrus in general citrus develop their taste only after a tree reaches 5 - 10 years of age.

When you grow the finest in citrus in the last 4 or 5 years, you really don’t have to worry about taste. Whether they are extreme good tasting or much less, get your tree’s up to speed. Whatever they produce it will be exceptable by far.

When I walk through my citrus field, I feel surrounded by fruits hanging everywhere and it could have even better but still always looking forward to the following season What that would bring. So far so good.

Come late fall I will take individual pictures to frame for hanging in my shop. They have to change color first. Have one pomelo tree with 14 , can’t wait for that framed Picture hanging but have more than that one. Been a trip!

Bob, do you make your own frames?

When I was in stained glass business, I made my own frames, not any more. Most frames were very large, usely around 96” for transoms over French doors.
