The doors were likely machined for a different brand hinge

Thanks but how would I find the ones that fit right? I have been looking, maybe I am not understanding what I need to search for.

What kind of cabinet is this door going on—framed or frameless? What‘s the door overlay—partial, full or inset?

Glue a dowel into the holes and screw the hinge on please.

I was able to get great help with a similar dilemma from the the folks over at https://www.woodworkerexpress.com/. Send an email to their customer service and they will help you find the right hinge. You will also need help finding a matching base plate.

My cabinet door hinge bore looked similar to yours, and I was able to use either a Blum Inserta or Expando type hinge which include the right size pieces to go into those extra holes. So easy to use.

Thanks to everyone who commented. I found out that there are 3 different hinge bore patterns. The one I have is the least common of 52mm wide with 5.5 mm from center. most common is 45mm wide with 9.5mm from center in North America. Now I will have to figure out how to get 4 of the least common hinge types. wish me luck!
