Front door hardware

We bought a replacement handleset and attempted to install it tonight. The holes on our door are too close together. The deadbolt overlaps the handle by about 1/4“. What are my best options here? The holes are 4” apart vertically. Everything That I see says 5.5” apart Is standard.
