"Looks like" means nothing. You've got to test.

If glass scratches it, or acid etches it, it's marble. As for looks, I don't see the tell-tale crystalline structure of quartzite here, but I am no karin_mt, our friendly neighborhood geologist. As Joseph said, testing is a must.

Agree with the comments above. The only thing I can tell you is that it's a pretty one!

Thanks for the replies! We spent another day slab shopping today and found a beautiful Madre Perla quartzite slab. When I asked the sales person if I could do an etch test, he said “Sure, let me get a lemon”. He handed me a freshly cut half and directed me to rub it on a large 5” section. I was sold. We put a deposit immediately. I'm so happy the search is over.
