September Surprises

Hi everyone,

Even though I haven't been feeling too well, mentally, the sight of some new buds perked me up a little. I thought I got four pictures of the first, but I only got three. First up is pubicalyx "Red Buttons", my personal favorite pubicalyx. There are not one or two, but FOUR budding peduncles on it :).

And glancing at RHP, she's decided to bloom for the very first time, too :).

Haven't really done anything special this year aside giving them a little more sun, started misting with orchid food, and still watering with the tomato fertilizer. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it.

Since they both have similar colored blossoms, I wonder if I'll get a mix of light (more pink) or dark (more purple) blooms? The buds look dark, and I LOVE the dark flowers it can produce :).

I am sorry you have not been too good these days..Anytime you need a friend or ear, just e-mail me. I had been so busy these days with the stupid virus but things are letting up and I actually have a bit more time for my plants. Can't believe many are blooming when I don't expect them too. Ha.

First peduncle starting to open! I detected the scent last night!

Hi Mike! I forget your e-mail address, so message me it if you possibly can. Good to hear from you! Yes, I've started noticing the Christmas decor already, but my favorite holiday comes first: Halloween! :D

Ooh so pretty. Those blossoms are such a rich, dark color. Very mysterious!

The color's one of my top reasons for growing this Hoya. RHP can also produce the darker blooms. The buds on it are getting bigger, as are the remaining four peduncles on RB. RHP's buds look pinker compared to RB. Maybe because I have it in lower light after bringing my plants inside? I'm just happy I have some flowers. Sadly, I've been having to spray the buds on RB, because aphids have found their way on there -_-. But so far, she's still looking fabulous!
