I haven't seen that many butterflies this year. Certainly the orange on blue coloration is a nice contrast. Sometimes, rebloom scapes are more impressive than the originals. Today is blooming Lavender Panties on a nicely budded scape. I thought, oh, just when it was on the chopping block.

Mantis - I was afraid I wouldn't have many butterflies this year. My Black Knight butterfly bush died over the winter, and I didn't have my red pentas or any other annuals this year to attract them. But I would say I have about the same numbers and varieties as usual. They are drawn to my Sunny Border Blue veronica, clematis, cypress vines and morning glories, and the asters and mums beginning to bloom.

Lavender Panties is a beautiful shade of lavender. I'm glad is has a well-budded rebloom scape for you.

Debra, I really like Zuzu's treasure, Blood of the Martyrs, and the red seedling. So pretty!

I agree-you should be so pleased with your red seedling. It has performed great for you and such a looker, too. Royal Jester caught my eye as well-different and pretty in that clump. I have many blooming now with more scapes coming up from the massive hurricane rain we had. Amazing ow water will stimulate those scapes!! I even have rebloom scapes on some that have never rebloomed.

Kate - I was wondering how much rebloom you would get from that hurricane rain. Lots of rain like that such pushes up the rebloom scapes. Not much of that rain made it this far north. We only got about an inch from it. A few years ago we got about six inches from two hurricane systems, and that was the most rebloom I ever had in fall.
