Help choosing trim and deck color

I am absolutely struggling to figure out what to do with the trim (of entire house) and deck of my house after building out my pool. Everyone is going to white brick and black trim but I am trying to buck that trend, I went a little more modern on my pool and I don't want to paint the house white. I want a color that fits both the red brick and the lighter colors of my pool. Any ideas? Here are a couple of things to keep in mind.

1) I am going to dress up those bottom deck posts to be thicker and nicer and the middle one is coming out to prevent view obstruction (maybe even corner one).

2) I am replacing balusters up top with wire balusters to give it a more modern look. Thought about glass but the thought of keeping it clean stresses me!

3) I will have a bed swing underneath that deck with underdecking and lighting.

Your house trim can be anything from deep expresso brown to tan or cream. A neutral shade of green might also work but you'd have to check it against the grayish blue pool. For the deck, stick to a darker wood brown stain so you have easier upkeep than paint.

Yeah the deck makes it the hardest, a designer friend of ours recommended cream accents (to match brick grout), but I couldn't figure out how the deck would tie into that.

Can someone show me a deck in a picture of the color you are thinking?

You can use cream trim on the house and still have a brown deck. Think of the color of deep brown mulch, or a tree trunk.

Anyone else have any opinions?

Your brick doesn't really look that red in the photos. If you decide to use a light trim, you can try a light taupe/white instead of a yellowish cream. To me, the brown and cream/taupe looks classic, not antiquated. But if you don't like it, try dark brown trim. You can load your photo into paint apps to try out different combinations on your specific home.

For sure white trim on the stark side to relate to your pool area. Work to give the house a modern edge vs. soft creamy suburban feel so everything ties together. The pool is beautiful :)

I like the dark-ish blue-gray of the pool against the brick of the house. What would you think of pulling that color from the pool for the deck? This would help to create the more modern feel you’re looking for.
Agree white trim would look great.

@Sofia I assume you mean the blue stone coping and steps? Where would you put that color, you mean for the deck?

@Color Zen Would you use an alabaster white or go creamier? What about the deck color?

Yes, there’s the blue stone of the pool (which looks grayish in the photo and what looks like dark gray gutter/downspout. What would you think of a dark blue gray for the deck?
