I love it. I would remove the B&W piece Rachel Lee suggested, and also remove the little one on the far right in the second row. Then I would move the whole group down so that the bottom frames are about 6 inches from the top of the sofa. Looks great.

I love the eclectic mix including children's art. My initial impression was that the bottom of the arrangement was too high, but now I think that your sofa just has a really low back and I was using it as a reference point to judge the height. Before you move the group down, figure out how low you can go before it will someone sitting will bump into it. The bottom of my gallery wall is about 40 inches above the floor (about 6 inches above the back of my sofa).

I just pinned up the mock layout with paper and I totally agree that the layout is too low. Now I’m freaking out because I do want to replace my sofa so before I hang I’m going to figure out a sofa height based on my new imaginary sofa. All the info I read says 6-8 inches above sofa. But that maybe for hanging a single print whereas a salon style hang needs to be lower because all that empty space is disconcerting. Thank you for noticing.

Hmmmm. I have to disagree with the other posts. I find your arrangement busy and a visually odd assortment. I think what makes a good gallery wall is a central theme and unity. I love the children’s art, maybe use family photos along with the kids art as a theme. I would also choose the same frame in different sizes for all pieces to unify the look. When hanging each piece, try to keep the same amount of space between each frame. Building a gallery wall is tricky. The really good ones are thoughtfully designed.
