HI, have you tried lighting up the long entryway 24/7? Lighter paint on the stucco would be nice, but until you get more light in that space, I think it will look like a dark hole on lighter stucco. It does look unusually narrow but it looks like structurally, you can't make it larger. What color is the long entry way painted? If that were a light color and well lit always, it might be visible.
