I was doing a root check on my 'Starlight' new cutting and while replanting it I heard a crispy crunch! I had broken the bigger leaf about halfway through on the bottom. I hope you are right I was scared she will die now, but maybe instead she will make a new baby. Fingers crossed!

I think you've got a point. I accidentally caused my francisii to fall down and one of the new "branches" broke. It put out a new one, a pup is getting out of the ground and I see another bud working "upplant", too.

Beating a tree with a bat for more fruit....well, I never! I have to look that up now. I had some surplus Gold Flame that are laying stagnant. I beheaded a pot of 2. Within a week, a new pup is coming. I may get a pretty, fresh Gold Flame soon.

I wonder if it makes a difference chemically to the plant, if a damaged portion is left on the plant or removed? Kind of like "super cropping" without the fruit.
