My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

      I went to a woodworker and selected a 4" thick piece of spalted maple, and my contractors cut it to fit. The wood specimen is so unique.

      We would like to update our fireplace and love this. It would look great with our maple floors and mid-century furniture. What did the fireplace look like before? Ours has a brick surround that protrudes a few inches and also a wood molding and mantel that protrude a little further, so I am wondering if the slate could go over the brick or if the brick would need to be removed.


      Also, how did you cut back the depth of the 42" Blake console? Thank you!
