Palantine is my favorite release to wait for as they have excellent rootstock and great roses you cannot find anywhere else . They aren’t on sale , but sell out in the blink of an eye .

My personal favorite sale is pat at roses unlimited. However there is no pattern to what she puts on sale , so I just wait and see what she has . If there is something I must have from her, I usually order it bc she won’t hold for a sale which makes sense .

And I always wait for a David Austin code !

All in all, there is no sale I wait for tbh , I get excited to see them and love seeing what everyone orders ! But I order as I have money , and so favorite roses don’t sell out . I am a poor planner and saver . Just ask my husband! Lol

Oh yes! I forgot about the Austin discount-I always do that one too.

I always look forward to the High Country Roses sale first and fill in any others I want from other places after seeing what they have available. I like that I can buy now and wait to ship til spring, and they stock roses that grow excellently in my cold area so even though they start out small, they catch up really quickly.

Hahahahah... I forgot about HCR too! And their discounted gift cards. Clearly I’m distracted by football....

when do these sales tend to happen? I saw the day after thanksgiving for ARE; if HCR does one I'd be so happy!

Aaron, even if HCR doesn't have a sale this year, hopefully they will still have the 25% discounted gift card. That's quite a discount. Freedom Gardens is not having a sale this year. I guess with Covid roses have been selling well. I hope it continues and helps our smaller nurseries stay in business.

Do you know what time of year HCR offers the 25% discounted gift card? Sounds like a great deal!

I know you are talking about roses which are "on sale", but I have one favorite place where they only have roses "for sale" once a year - the Sacramento Historic Cemetery Rose Garden. I hope that the sales of roses will continue (they are in the Spring), even though the Garden has been taken over by the City of Sacramento, which has extraordinarily stupid ideas about how the roses should be grown.

The roses in that garden are mostly antique unknown, or rare, roses which have been collected all over California, in old gold mining towns, etc., where they have survived for over a century with little or no care. Once a year many of the roses have been rooted for sale, and you can get treasures there which are not available anywhere else. By definition, these roses are perfect for the warm climate of California. I even love standing in the long line of excited people waiting for the sale to start - there are always enough roses for all. Now that I think about it, that sale may be over for good - does anyone know?

@jacqueline9CA i think that sale is over,, i got a newsletter about it And they don't ship, only people living near the sacramento can benefit from that sale.
