September rebloom amps up

In the South we can expect rebloom on many cultivars. For me it is usually sporadic and I enjoy them in passing. This year, hurricane rains have undoubtedly caused many more scapes and I find myself going out with a purpose to look at them. I expect more hurricane rain this week and am today experiencing 24 hours of rain even before the hurricane rains come. I may have a full garden in rebloom this month!!!!

Malachite Prism sent up two rebloom scapes. This is the last bloom on those but I noticed this weekend another scape is up.

Song Writer-has never rebloomed for me. Two scapes on this one.

Heavenly Dark Matter blooming in the middle of lantana

Willamette Mist. Two rebloom scapes. Did not bloom during first season due to “red bug” damage.

Omomuki-has never rebloomed

Royal Gilded Majesty—a little rain damage but still pretty to me

Ruby Splendor-an older Benz that I tend to overlook during the season so I am glad it reblooms

Seal of Approval-guess it got excited on its first ever rebloom because it sent out some extra “stuff” on the bloom

Plum Perfect-this was in hot blazing sun so color is faded

Lots of bloom going on for you Kate! I have always liked the look of Malachite Prism, the vivid coloring looks so good. Song Writer is a pretty color. I have not had Christmas Greeting rebloom here, I like the color of it though.

With all the rain you've had and what's still to come, you may have scads of flowers in October. How nice that some that have never rebloomed for you are doing so now. My favorites are Christmas Greetings, Malachite Prism and Willamette Mist.

PLEASE SEND YOUR RAIN UP HERE TO ME!!! We are in a terrible drought and everything is dying. I can't understand what is going on with Mother Nature. I have always liked Malachite Prism and have it's child Bob Faulkner which makes amazing children. I am glad for you that you are getting some rebloom. Royal Gilded Majesty looks like a very pretty one.

Kate, Song Writer is my favorite of these. Nice to see so many reblooms. I've had none, but VT Autumn Fires keeps adding buds, so that is as good as. Probably up to 50 buds per scape now. We are quite rainy here after a few weeks of dry.

Sorry Celeste, I tried to send you some rain but it wouldn't go north.

Chesapeake Crab Legs looks an awful lot like Fulvas .

I would sure send you some rain if I could! A friend about 40 minutes away from me got 6" rain Saturday, we only got a couple inches, seem to be getting that every 2 or 3 days. Every time I think it has dried enough to move a plant or 2, and we get another downpour.

Nancy, Christmas Greeting has never rebloomed for me either but a lot of these have not!! Again, the power of water, I think!

Debra, I see where you have mentioned on some of your posts about the extra water as well-you have had good rebloom as well!

Sherry, it is nice to have blooms and I can appreciate them more in smaller quantities!

Brad, Chesapeake Crablegs is the one out of all the blooms that did not look better or bigger on rebloom.

Oh Celeste, would that I could send rain to you! We were not in drought but in a long time without rain after season was over. Without the tropical storms and hurricanes I would not have rain now either.
