I would add a taller plant and place it to the left along with the two smaller plants. Stack larger coffee table books on the other side with a decorative object on top. Good luck! Alternately, you could use a table lamp in place of the plants.

a few additional ideas...

Lower the art. Add a lamp on the right. Put a basket to catch stuff you may remove at night like jewelry, keys. Then put a real plant that has some character on the left.
