toro timemaster already broke

Hey everyone, So I just purchased a timemaster. I mowed 3/4 of my yard and ran out of gas. I put premium gas in it. Went to go start it up and it started surging. Tried to pull the lever to start the blades and it completely died. I siphoned the gas out because maybe the higher octane gas caused the issue, put some 87 in there and still doing it. Sounded a little better but not purring like when I got it. Anyway the service people are coming to pick it up tomorrow. They said it sound like a carb issue or a cracked gasket.

I was curious if anyone had these kind of issues, not with just a time master but with any toro(briggs and stratton) or any mower. It seems too coincidental that as soon as I ran out of gas and put the new stuff in the problems occurred. Didn't have it for one full day. However it moves nice and the cut is very nice as well.
