Dacor kitchen appliances- help!

Hi! I am doing a kitchen remodel and was looking for some advice on appliances. After much research I really liked the features and look of Dacor but having trouble finding reviews.

Does anyone have experience with the following appliances?

  • Dacor 42” French door built in fridge

  • Dacor 36” 6 burner range contemporary style

  • Dacor contemporary double oven

Any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks!

That’s what I’ve seen... it’s so weird there aren’t many other reviews out there

"it’s so weird there aren’t many other reviews out there"

Few retailers handle them, prices are high, so sales are few.

I had a Dacor cooktop. Never again.

Thanks. What were the issues? How long ago was this?

It was about 15 or so yrs ago. Poor product. Poor customer service.

Dacor gas cooktop--2006-2010. Came with a defective control, but we thought that was its natural action till it failed completely, but out of warranty. The repair cost enough to buy a non "prestige" brand range. (Swell brochures though!)

I have a Dacor "Preference" cooktop from when I built the home in 1994. It is built like a tank and still works perfectly. That being said, I understand their history has been tumultuous, and that reliability has waned since their earliest products.

Do not buy Dacor!! Our double oven has never worked and we cannot get the warranty department to come service it or replace. We had to run all kinds of tests for them and we found out the temperature was too hot. We tried to adjust it based on their directions but it still doesn't work and they were brand new units. We have sent at least 5 new emails and they still haven't responded to come service the oven. The Dacor french door fridge has already had to be serviced too because the water line kept freezing and the water dispenser wouldn't work. I think a cheap $200 dishwasher would work better. I can't tell you how many times I open the dishwasher to find the detergent smeared all over the door and it didn't clean the dishes. The cooktop has been okay but still miss my thermadore appliances. Dacor not worth the headache or the money.

I would advise staying far far away from Dacor. I considered their appliances when I redid my kitchen but decided it wasn't worth taking the chance. There are too many better appliance companies to mess with Samsung.

    Hi Rach
After much research & debate, these are the appliances we have waiting to be installed when floors & cabinets are in. No Pro-type models:
    Thermador tsgsx365ts Gas Cooktop
    Bosch bshxm88z75n Dishwasher
Bosch bb36cl80sns Refrigerator (only true counter depth w/o spending another $7K on builtin. Just ticked off it's made in China)
LG Studio Dbl Elect WALL Ovens (convection, speed oven, conv with steam) but still on back order. 😕

Dacor is a terrible brand in my opinion. I bought their 48" gas range and it was installed in August 2020. Large oven did not work on arrival. It took a month to get it fixed. The small oven failed on November 24, 2020. I have been trying for 10 weeks to get it fixed. Samsung said they would refund the purchase price and then said they would not as they are not really Dacor. It looks like I am going to have to sue in small claims court. Their customer service is non existent. Parts are not available, COVID 19, blah blah blah. Be warned. If you buy Dacor, and it fails, which it probably will, you will hate your life.

So sorry to hear this, I hope you get it resolved soon. we didn’t end up going with Dacor

Dacor comes up pretty regularly on Houzz and I cannot recall a single positive comment.

I think the problem is that high end appliance stores are selling Dacor alongside reputable brands like Miele and Thermador and Gaggenau but Dacor really belongs alongside Samsung and KitchenAid at Home Depot. I don't know why these stores continue to peddle this brand, they must be more aware of these problems than anyone but they still carry Dacor.
