Countertop help!

In June y’all helped me decide to stick with marble on my kitchen island and perimeter/backsplash. Thanks! Now we have to figure out what to do with the counters for a peninsula and an opposite wall of cabinets (attaching a rough drawing, the opposite wall is across from the island but not on the photo). We have a funky black and gold pendant over the island, and will probably use a larger one beyond the peninsula in the dining area.

This is all pretty modern, shiny white flat panel cabinets with pretty sleek gold handles. Brown floors (I’m tired of the ubiquitous grey wood-look floors.) Appliances are stainless. Husband wants black granite/quartz but I feel that’ll be too much black. Decorator suggests a light grey quartz with very little veining but I don’t favor that. Everyone thinks more of this marble would be “too much.” And we don’t have any more marble to work with.

so your suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

You could probably do a dark gray/black but it depends on the backsplash. Any thoughts on what you’re doing for that?

A peninsula is just part of your counter do the same material and IMO keep the same or avery simple no pattern counter for the other wall.Where was the peninsula added and why if the kitchen was already done?

KR We plan to use this marble for the island top and for the backsplash straight up from the countertop. It isn’t a ton of wall space. Does this answer your question? I want the look to be intentional, y’know? If we got another slab of the marble it could have slightly different coloring.

Patricia the peninsula is attached to a non-moveable column. We felt it would nice for definition in the open floor plan plus more serving space (dining room beyond) and more base cabinets. It is separated from the perimeter counter by a small pantry pullout and the fridge. So it’s close to the island and counter but not attached. Is this clear?
