keep or sell painted sink

A remodel leaves me with a dilemma. Should I use this sink in another bathroom or should I sell it? If I sell what might the value be?

I think it's gorgeous! I'd slap that baby in a freestanding cabinet - maybe an old wash basin pre WWII - and let it be a conversation piece in the primary bathroom used by guests.
If you really don't like it or its not your style, let someone else have such a beauty that's been scouring the net looking for it. Use them proceeds to get heated floors maybe?

This is definitely a personal style issue, it's a very bold piece. If you are looking to keep it, I would simplify the unit around it, help the sink stand out rather than match and blend in. I think the sink itself is beautiful, but all the matching gold looks dated.

groveraxle, this sink would be closer in costs to a Sherle Wagner than a Mexican tourist shop sink. But I'm sure you are joking.

I looked this up and found this article about an identical sink that was pulled out of a Chanel store. Must have been pricey in the day.'

It sure is a conversation piece, its a difficult decision to make ,sinks like that are very expensive. You could keep it just in case someday you change your mind.

I would sell it...if you could find a buyer. For a specialty decorative item like that, I would not expect to net more than 25-35% of original cost but getting that much might require you to wait quite a while for a buyer

If you like it and it fits your style and colors, keep it. It's an expensive sink that is many times used in high end homes. If you don't like and it isn't you, sell it.

This was in the master bath. I am doing a remodel that doesn't include this sink. I live in a beautiful co-op in St. Louis. My unit was formally owned by one of the Anheusers from the Anheuser-Busch fame. He did a remodel in 1967 (didn't touch it since) and that's when this sink was installed.This picture is taken when we were looking to buy.

This is refined creme de la creme decor for this bathroom, again parting with it is a very difficult decision to make ,depending on what you have in mind for remodelling perhaps you could make it work in the new bathroom, honestly speaking sinks like those cannot be purchased by all.

I would keep it ... Change the hardware and add a dark granite new cabinets and paint the walls ....white is to stark for such a bold sink ....it's a nice convo piece ...

I don't know if you still check in on this thread but what did you end up doing? I have a similar sink I just removed. Also has matching toilet paper holder, towel rack holder, light switch plate. I'm unsure how to proceed to sell it.

Steve, what we did....We have an antique sink from a Victorian home. We left it dry in the corner of the upstairs hallway. I fill it with soaps and shampoos and toothbrushes and other small supplies for guests to use. I couldn't part with it, but I also couldn't use it in my real bathrooms.

Steve, I still have the sink. It's in the corner of my studio leaning against the wall. I put it on craigslist every now and then. The only responses I seem to get are scammers wanting me to send them money. It's funny actually. Some day though someone legitimate will contact me and it will find a new home.
