sky pencil holly question

this guy galaxy season since planted. two shoots in the back died I'm not sure if they will ever come back. and it's not maintaining its pencil form.

I'm thinking of removing it and discarding it or transferring it around the side of my house and giving it a second chance. Do these things require a lot of sun... there's going to be less sun on the side of my house. Also looking at its appearance is there any chance it will ever come together again or is it always going to be straggly like this . Right now the best I can do to make it look good is to put some green wire around it....second pic. Thoughts?
