Mortise door knobs in old house

My 80+ year old home has a lot of mismatching interior mortise door knobs. Does anyone know if it’s possible to replace only the face plates and knobs, without replacing all the mechanisms? And if so, where I could find the right parts?
For context, photos of some of the examples. I would prefer them to all be in the cleaner Mission style.

Very easy to change out the plates and knobs. I have gotten knobs at flea markets, architectural salvage and eBay. House of antique hardware has new sets. If you are near Chicago, Al bar in Wilmette has a great selection of plates and knobs.

Yes, you can replace only the trim. There is a square spindle that the knobs attach to. One source for new parts is: https://www.houseofantiquehardware.com/antique-door-knob-pair-of-round-brass

Not all of those have a square spindle. Mine do not. Mine have a protrusion on the knob end that locks into the mechanism.
