Dining room windows

Hello!
We recently updated our dining room with white wainscoting & indigo grass cloth. I love the way it looks and afraid I’m going to choose the wrong window treatments and ruin the look. What do you suggest to go in the windows?

Expect to be open during the day and closed when we eat there at night so want some privacy but don’t necessarily need blackout.

Can’t wait to see your suggestions! I’m ready to finish this room.

I think a nubby linen blend fabric would be very pretty. Probably two sets on each side. West elm has some pretty ones that are always on sale. They call them black out but hang more like heavy lined. Or you can go the custom route and do a linen blend pinch pleat maybe at the top. I think oatmeal would be very pretty. If you want a pattern there are tons on Etsy That you can have them custom make for you. Are you doing a rug?

I wasn't going to do a rug but I may. I find round tables are tricky with rugs. Any suggestions? I think we will go the linen drape route. Thank you so much!

I would do a rectangular rug. maybe With some taupe and some blue and cream?Maybe tape it out and see how it looks. I would also get a nice piece of art (large) for the space across

from the windows. Also I would add a lamp to buffet and some other pieces. Do you like blue and whit pottery pieces? That could be pretty. I like one lamp but you could always do two which to me is a little more formal. Your room will be beautiful.

I would suggest having a blackout roller shade with a light filtering. Light filtering shades are more for letting light in, so that's when you want to have privacy, but at the same time letting the sun in. But if you install a blackout underneath, then you'll be able to close it completely at night, when you want full privacy. There's also the option of the example below, were you can close or leave half-closed

I have the white linen blend Emery curtain panels from Pottery Barn and they would look great in your room. I think they make them in a double width. Your walls look beautiful.

I love the idea of the blue and white pottery pieces. I think that will tie it in nicely. I am going to start browsing for rugs and see if anything catches my eye. Nice call on the blue and cream, too. That will give me some inspiration.

Funny. you should mention those Emery curtains. We actually want those but I am concerned the hardware of the curtain rod won't bit in the space above the window and ceiling. It's only 4" so spacing is a little tight. However, I think you are right - those would be great!

Great input! Thank you!! I will post updated pics as we progress.

@Kroftygal I had a similar situation where I only had 2 inches (!) to work with for the curtain rod in my bedroom (due to a slanted ceiling on that side of the room). There are rods that will accommodate, you’ll just have to search for one you like and double check the specs. I ended up with a rod from West Elm that had streamlined hardware that fit in the small space.

We are in the Northeast and your home looks very similar to ours. Its an older home and our floors look almost identical.
