If you can go 32" wide you can get an even deeper tub. I bought E109S which is the same as J109S except the J model has insulating foam on the underside which they guarantee keeps the water hot for 30 minutes.

We have not installed our tub yet, so I can't tell you anything about it. I know you can get it as a whirlpool or as a soaker. My tub is 60" x 32" x 21", but it has an interior depth of 18" to the overflow. That is the deepest of all 32" and 36" soaker tubs, unless a company has added them since June 2020.

I found several 30" or 31" TUBS on their website. Choose a model, then look at the specs. It can tell you the exterior depth and the interior depth to the overflow.

I wanted 36", until I sat in it. It was too big, and I am not a skinny Minnie. I tried the 32" and it was "just right". We bought ours through Winnelson Showroom because they beat everyone's prices, including Jetta's. $660 plus tax. The difference between the insulated one and the one we bought was about $350-400. We saw no reason to buy insulated since we don't soak for half an hour.

For you:

E series is NOT insulated. 19" exterior and 14 3/4" interior to the overflow. J series is insulated.

A 31" width and 17" interior depth. Soaker or whirlpool.

31" width. 17" to overflow. Soaker or whirlpool.

Pay attention to the back angle of the tub. Some companies show interior angle and some show the exterior angle. Confused me for a while before I figured out some companies were using exterior angles. Think about 90° straight up angle. Not comfortable. My tub has a 115° interior slope which would be 65° exterior slope. You would not want 65° interior slope. 180 - 115 = 65.

I did not want a drop in tub because it will also be a showering tub. I think my tub's flange (lip) goes about half an inch under the tile so my deck will be 3.5" wide by the spout. Now, I am trying to find a longer spout so I don't get splash back.

I think all measurements are + or - a half inch. It looks like one of the 31" wide tubs is only 30.5" wide actually. Measure from stud to stud without drywall.
