Alternatives for Gas Wall Heaters

I am looking to replace existing gas wall heaters in my recently purchased rental property. It's a 2 story cabin built in the 1930's. There is no attic space. I was thinking electric wall heaters or baseboard heaters may be the most cost-efficient but wanted to see if there were any other ideas. TIA

Your more cost efficient way is stick to gas. If the electrical wiring isn't up to the job your cost jumps way up. My advice is to update the gas wall heaters if you wish since your worried about cost and if you're paying the heating bill stick with gas.

Why is keeping the gas not an option? Is it piped-in natural gas, or propane (from a tank)?
