36” Induction Ranges (AGA?)

We’re building a new kitchen and are looking at 36” ranges or 36” cooktop over oven combos. We’ve been using a Wolf 36” all gas range for the last 5 years so I’m just used to the look and usability of a big gas range. However, I’m now researching induction and am really intrigued by induction’s performance and ease of cleaning. I still want to stay in the 36” footprint.
Not a lot of options for 36” induction ranges. More options for the 36” cooktop but I need one that is compatible with oven below.

I think Wolf is out of the budget.
I saw this from AGA but I can hardly find any info or reviews on it. My local dealer doesn’t have one on site. Anyone know about it?

Otherwise, recommendations for 36” induction cooktop with a good sized compatible oven below would be great. Bosch and Thermador seem good.

Thanks!

any of these choices are dependent on having a good local service person available. If the dealer doesnt have the AGA on site (and it does look good) then look at others. You would not go wrong with either Bosch or Thermador

other options, since you are building the kitchen, is a 36 inch induction top and separate wall ovens

I should note that the AGA induction range I linked is not one of the more commonly discussed “Mercury” or “Elise” models but their “Professional” line that I can’t find much info on, even on the AGA website.

Delay, thanks for the comment. We don’t really have room for wall ovens in a separate place which is why I’m looking to mount under cooktop if I can’t find the right 36” range.

Really wish I could find some info on this range which honestly looks like it has everything I’d want. I can’t even find it on AGA website which is not a good sign. However I don’t know if that means it’s discontinued, or if it’s so new they don’t have it there. Ah well, looks like I may be going with gas range if I can’t find a slide in 36” induction.

A Miele or Bosch 36" cooktop can be paired with an oven below or wall ovens at another spot. A steam oven and a convection is common. You could place those under counter with a cooktop. They don't need to line up with the cooktop.

Get the best of all three. We installed a new 36 Thermador range with four gas burners on left, two inductions on far side and electric oven. We love the flexibility. We almost always use the induction burners to boil water which happens so quick and use the gas side to make the main meal. Just nice having flexibility. Good luck.

I have been interested in the Aga and then I saw this Ilve https://www.ilveusa.com/range.html?sku=UMI09NS3AWG

AJ Madison also shows the Fulgor Milano Sofia, I have yet to see either of these in person. Both of them look very interesting.

Did anyone ever get more info on this? We are also considering the new 36" AGA induction range and would love anything you can share!

I'm also interested in the AGA 36"" induction range Professional series AMPRO36IN. Did you end up getting it or fitting a 36" induction cooktop with a small 30" oven below?

Can you please update us how the oven is working out? Many thanks 🙏

We are just finishing a kitchen renovation and chose the Aga 36 inch induction range. We couldn't find many reviews, so basically went for it and hoped for the best.

After about 1 month, I am happy to report that we love the range! The induction top works wonderfully. I baked one of my best batches of cookies using the convection oven. The look is very professional, for a significantly more affordable price than other models (ie Wolf).

The only issue was that the dimension is slightly smaller than 36 inches ( I think due to metric conversion). I measures closer to 35.5 inches. You may want to consider this when spacing the cabinets and countertops.

    Best of luck, all!

@Elizabeth Lee - how do you find the cooktop on the AGA? Is it fairly obvious where the pots fit? Is is marked?

We got the AGA 36" and love it. The burners are marked. Happy to take a pic in a bit for you.

Yes, the burners are marked. There are 2 on either side, and 1 large burner in the middle. After ~4 months with the range, we still love it. I am a total induction convert. And the knobs are so convenient.

Grateful to you both @Reno Help! and @Elizabeth Lee. I’ve been nervous about picking this range due to the lack of reviews. I ruled out Bertazzoni because of their repair and response issues. Beautiful, but if no one can fix it… fisher paykel - I saw in the ferguson showroom and its oven is rather small… I just keep going back to AGA (Wolf takes us to a whole new price point and current range no longer has knobs). Glad to hear you both are loving. AGA it is!

Is the AGA 36" induction range's oven self cleaning? AJ Madison's product specs say no, but other sellers say it is self cleaning. The online user manuals I've been able to find don't instruct on using self clean so that makes it seem like it isn't self cleaning. Thanks.

Really like the look and the knobs (my hands run cold and are often wet when I cam cooking) but I ahve read the knobs also get really hot. Has this been an issue? I have asked my dealer to check on self-clean issue and will report back. Would love to hear anymore feedback on this range. THanks!

Have not experienced the knobs getting hot. I can't really even imagine that being an issue. We've run the oven very hot to make pizza and didn't notice anything different.

Also, FYI to anyone reading, the two right burners can link together to heat a griddle.

Still over here loving our AGA.

I wonder if anyone else has purchased the 36in AGA induction range and can comment, Thanks!

@Elizabeth Lee Do you find that the oven capacity is sufficient? The specs on AGA's site state that the usable space is only 13" deep. Many of my pans would require at least 14" of depth. Do you think the 13" spec is accurate, or would a slightly larger pan fit? Thank you so much for your help. Like you said, hardly anyone in the US has this model so it is hard to find information!

Dealer just told me this model is discontinued.

That's disappointing if the range has been discontinued. For anyone reading in the future, I am referencing the AGA range pictured above (AMPRO36INSS) with the full sized oven and window. Other 36 inch AGA models have smaller ovens with no windows.

YES- that is the one I was told is discontinued. If that is not correct please let me know as that range ticked all my boxes so I was very disappointed to hear that.

@Elizabeth Lee I love your tile backsplash! Any chance you can share what you used?

@abbystory did you ever move forward on this? I am also trying to order the AMPRO36INSS and heard from a dealer that it's discontinued but when I called the number on the AGA website they told me it is not -- why is this so hard?!

    Hu-any luck getting this range?

It's discontinued but did you try: https://www.plessers.com/Aga/ampro36inss.htm

wow that looks good thanks valentina!
