I have zero knowledge about your chair but I love the duck (?) motif and the upholstery.

Not sure if a duck, goose, or a swan. I love the chair but I don't want to rip out the under belly. Any other suggestions? Thankin in advance!

How about a picture of the whole chair.
Some wood I see is walnut....some looks like maybe maple....Claw and ball foot....lovely crewel seat cover... standard upholstery tacks used.
guessing made between 1880 and maybe 1930. It doesn't appear to be any particular style....but for that foot, which smacks of Queen Ann.
You will never know the maker unless you stumble across it's twin.

Thanks for the info. I just posted another picture. I was thinking repro of Chippendale because of the ball and claw and wide seat as you can see in this new pic. As you can see the back has a stripe of dark wood on either side and a stripe of lighter wood in the middle. Seems to be all one piece. Thanks for any more help.

Now that I see the whole, definitely more "Chippendale-ish" than Queen Ann, with that knee and the general blocky look.
Don't take the dust cover off the bottom. Nothing you will find about the joinery will make much if any difference in identification. I don't believe it's early 19th century or before.
