Thanks I considered that. Even bought enough materials for that option but I don’t have any storage in the bathroom.. also the plumbing is on the far right side.

Well the house plan never had a soaking tub and the builder installed this 20in high biscuit colored tub for a shared hallway bathroom. It was intended to be walk-in shower. When brought up to the builders they requested over $6,000 just to REMOVE the tub. Not even to finish the rest of bathroom. The shelving was another problem since we didn’t request it. This is a ranch home and this bathroom can been while in the kitchen which is unsightly since there is no door to hide personal items .

I get the tub/shower problem. I also understand why you are frustrated about something they put in without permission. But I’m wondering why you don’t like the shelves there. Would you rather it be a blank wall?

Well first the materials used are not applicable to bathroom humidity. Secondly the builders charged for luxury grade finishes. I am certain that a mounted wall cabinet would be a better. The builder told me I just would need to roll my towels! I do need storage for that wall just not happy with open shelving. The entire bathroom is approximately 12ft high. So it does look odd with such a high ceiling

Personally if this was my bathroom, I would remove the shelving unit. It looks oddly sized vs the giant wall. In the long run, you'll enjoy a larger shower vs the easy access to the towels. The lose of the shelving unit could be offset with a vanity with plenty of storage space. Like this.

You may want to make sure everyone is working off of the correct set of building plans. That kind of mistake implies they are not. If that's the case, other things may get built incorrectly. If they were using the wrong plans, they need to fix it, not try to charge you extra!!

Thats exactly what they are doing.. if they make mistake we have to pay for it to be fixed. If we want something fixed we also get charged. This has been going back and forth for two years. I definitely agree with your idea. It just doesn’t look like a finished bathroom with shelving. The only issue I foresee is that making shower larger will not be very useful since the plumbing is on the far right side. The ceiling is approximately 11 to 12 ft high. Currently I plan on marble tiled shower floor with marble threshold of 60in W

Do you have a hallway linen closet for extra towels? I agree that the humidity in the bath would make it a horrible location for towels, even if an exhaust fan was utilized.

How deep is that shelving tower? If it can be done, I agree with removing the shelving unit and enlarging the walk in shower. The fact that the plumbing is on the right hand wall should have no bearing on enlarging a walk in shower pan. Your builder should bear the cost of changes (unless the size of the shower pan was stipulated as shown) as this tower installation was done without your authorization.

Do you have room for a large vanity into which you could place pull out trays or keep items in drawers? Or, as you suggested, installing a wall mounted closet may work to hide personal items. If you need room for more towels in the bath due to the number of people in your household, I'd suggest extra towel bars/hooks, rather than " in bath" towel storage.

I finally figured out my bathroom dilemma . I was hoping to get some advice on what I can do with the enormous wall space due to the height of the bathroom. Any suggestions on the new remodel will be appreciated!

That looks like a nice, simple bath with a fine shower. Do you have an exhaust vent? I see a light above the shower, but no vent near it. The way to keep anything in the closet dry is to have a vent that runs with every shower. You can get them with humidity sensors that automatically run.

If you are looking for what to do with wall space to the right of the vanity, you could have a towel warmer or places to hang towels, either hooks or a ladder.
