how could i raise a side table that is too short

I bought this side table which is really nice. Solid wood, well made. It is 6-8" shorter than I need. It's 22" tall and way too short for my purpose. I wanted it to use it in an entry space under a mirror but it looks ridiculous because it's so short. I kept it because I really like it and thought maybe there was something I could do to get it to 28-30" that wouldn't look bad or weird. Any thoughts?

Maybe. If you are good at DIY. And if you can find a trim piece that matches/mimics the bottom turned part. You could take off the top and add another turned piece and replace the top.

Can't think of a way to change it so that it wouldn't look bottom-heavy. I'd find another spot for it...

I can't imagine a mirror that would look good over a side table like that. Foyer pieces have more presence than that little table. Use it by a chair to set down a cocktail. Get an actual console or other foyer piece with a mirror about 75% the width of the piece of furniture.
