Brittney did refer to it is "Fake Rock", so if it is fake, you can certainly take it down and then do whatever you want to that wall.

Check Hansen Wholesale's website. They have a lot of options for fireplaces.

OK, something different is too broad, which is likely why you are not getting any responses. Please post some idea of the direction you want to go with this room along with some pictures of the room and any furnishings you have or are considering.

There is no fireplace in your photo. Are you looking to put in a fake unit?

@Brittney Gamble I'm sorry for the confusion. I was answering a couple of dozen posts at the time I commented on yours, and I must have confused it with a different fireplace post. When you are saying this is fake rock, is this a thin layer of veneer that can be peeled back, or are the rocks actually a substantial dimension that make up the integrity of the unit? The rest of your room looks fairly undecorated in terms of other main features or wall art. You could really go any direction you wanted with this fireplace. A lot of people seem to be liking the electric units that fit into a previous fireplace opening to cut back on the mess. If you use this fireplace and enjoy making real fires, then you would want to maintain protocols of safety with whatever you used in replacement. Budget is also a concern. Some people cover the exterior of their fireplaces with marble or other natural stone slabs, but you are getting up high into the expense level when you do that. It is hard for me to tell much from your inspiration photo with it being taken so far back. If you are thinking about doing a new brick or stone look, then what you'd need to do is shop for your individual bricks or stones that you like and look around for a reputable installer. Brick work takes a lot of skill to do right, and stone work even more, so it's not usually a DIY project unless you just have an exceptional talent for taking on an advanced construction skill and have someone who can guide you through the process.
