I needba back aplash between the mirror (that is not in the picture) and the cabinet.

I don't have a backsplash in my powder room and the wall is fine. If you do do one, I would do something super simple. Do you have any floor tile left?

Don’t think you need backsplash

I agree that the scale is all off for a backsplash. Putting one in will only emphasize how small the cabinet is. Probably not what you want to hear, but I believe that is what the result would be.

And that linear tile is very dated.

This bethroom is in the sub basement. The guy who is remodeling the bethroom told me thst I need the backsplash.

Sorry, but you don’t “need” a backsplash. Use a semi-gloss paint and you won’t have a problem. Putting tile between that vanity and mirror will be strange-looking. It’s fine as is. (If you give in to his concept, try finding small, leftover tiles at a tile store or on Craig’s list. Proportionally, the tiles would need to be small, and white, to match your sink.)

Having read that your remodeler is saying you need a backsplash is concerning. I would insist on the advice you have received here. Ask why it is needed. Does sink not fit properly against wall? Is there something wrong with the wall? Or is he wanting to make more money? (Sorry, Don’t like to suggest that, but it happens, unfortunately.)

Believe everyone here. Your bathroom will look much nicer without tile over your sink.

Why do contractors always think they "know" when it comes to decorating. Just because they have done it doesn't mean it has to be done that way unless it is a Code thing. WHY is the question he should be asked.

If you have any leftover from your flooring you can cut a piece about 2inches high and the length from the wall to the same distance on the other end ...so that the sink looks like it's in the middle ..then place your towel holder rings underneath ...or get a molding out of porcelain ...but extend equally on both sides ...outward ...otherwise it looks awkward ...and stingy ...or tile the entire wall behind it . Or just simply paint it with an enamel paint ..
