Kitchen. Please help. I am thinking buttercreme or very light

Replied before your other pictures were posted. Do you need the blinds in dining room, as room would be lighter without them. Paint looks darker than in living room? Instead of butternut, if going to all the trouble of painting, I’d use a creamy white and do the same in kitchen (and living room if need be). Test choices In each room, as they will feel different. In kitchen, I’d remove the valance to allow for more light and it does feel a bit dated. You could add pendants over island and a runner to provide a lightness

I don't see buttercream or any yellow tone as a good color for your walls or to coordinate with your tan leather recliners. Something more neutral like Alabaster or Dover White would work in the room. The rug is a bit too small for the area so I have posted photos with 10x14 rugs.

I like alibaster color. I think with white ceilings and alabaster it would brighten up. Thank

MAUREEN THANK YOU. I will remove the valance. I had it custom made 4 years ago but I think you are right. I will try anything to help before I repaint. They want 11,000. To repaint interior of my house. Not including baseboards.

OMG. I painted our entire previous home and this one, inside and out, so had no idea!

I’d skip kitchen as there are not a lot of walls to make a difference. Instead, if you want, spend the money on lighter backsplash and pendants over island.

Could you, or find a handyman, paint the dinIng room and baseboards are easy to do yourself.

In living room, try my earlier suggestions first - rug, art, cushions. If there are blinds and don’t need, remove.

If you paint nothing else, it will be worth painting the ceiling white. You'll get a lot more light reflected that way which will brighten the whole space.

I am not fond of the wall color, but, I think it is the ceiling that is causing the most problem with it being dark. White ceilings would make a huge difference.

I just sent painting contractors a message how much to paint ceilings white.

The solution to a dark house is a better lighting plan. Not light paint. A dim and dark house with white walls is still a dim and dark house but with things looking dingy instead of rich.

On your other post, it was recommended to replace your light bulbs to LED lights in the 4000 range. Some will also say daylight bulbs. Before you decide on the ceiling paint, please replace the light bulbs.
