If you were going to buy a slow cooker, what brand would you buy?

Not All-Clad, after two have failed. Have never replaced the last one and now use a cast-iron Dutch oven on stove-top and/or in oven instead.

I have used crock pots (rival brand) since the 70’s..And am now using a Hot Pot.

What do you plan to cook..?

A cheap one :-) As long as it has a high, a low and warm setting, it works for me. And I use mine fairly often, especially in winter when I make a lot of soups and stews.

My current one is a CrockPot but I have had a Rival previously.

A hot pot is high tech version of a crock pot. Costs about $100.

if the recipients are younger/tech savv, I recommend a hot pot......and instead of a slow cooker/ hot pot, I recommend an air fryer.

Have you considered an Instant Pot that has a slow cooker function? If you buy the glass lid for it, it has a vent hole like slow cookers. The Instant Pot can do so many things. Then you’re not cluttering your cupboards with a pile of appliances. I use mine for pressure cooking (the best ribs we’ve ever tasted, etc.) and for making yogurt. (I still have my 2 slow cookers because they pre-date the Instant Pots. But if I were starting out, I’d just get the Instant Pot.)

My fav I've been using for years may not help you, it's Fagor multi-function pot that I think has become Zavor in recent months. If that worked, but the original company in Spain closed it seems.

I was looking for a replacement for my vintage West Bend beanpot style when I stumbled across the multi-functions some years back. I kept reading the new slow cookers cooked at a higher temp than the old and I didn't want necessarily a higher temp. I'd narrowed it down to the Nesco or Fagor multi-functions and went with the Fagor which was 1" smaller in diameter and would have gone into my then kitchen cupboards with the door still closing.

Still enjoy having it after several years. This morning I put a small chuck roast in it to brown, added a jar of crushed tomatoes, env of spaghetti sauce seasonings and some seasonings of my own to tweak. Set it to slo cook after browning and will serve it with pasta later this evening. Leaving me free to finish painting the inside of my coat closet and only have to do a quick cook angel hair pasta to please DH.

Either a garage sale not-very-used original Crock Pot with the original low temperatures, or what I have, which is the Breville Fast Slow multicooker. The Breville is the best slow cooker I've ever used, and it has enough built-in know-how, I don't have to check recommended settings. It also does a decent job of searing and sauteing an onion, which means not having to start in a pot on the stove. It also does some pressure cooking, which is sufficient for as much as I ever need.

I've got a big round (6qt?) Rival, a smaller round(3qt) Crock-Pot, and an oval Hamilton Beach- I think it's a 3qt, perfect size and shape for a small hen or roast. And a 6 qt instant-pot.

I have a large Hamilton Beach, and a small Crock Pot......I use whichever size is appropriate, and both work fine. I chose each brand at the time because they were the brand on sale.
