Need help with decorating home office

I need help decorating my home office. My biggest dilemma is what to do in center of room. I know I need a rug. I have debated putting a writing table either horizontal or vertical to file cabinets in built in. Or a coffee table with chairs pulled up to it. I need help with rug choice and office chairs, and color of wood for writing table or coffee table. Also, if I do a writing table would it look odd to have no office chair pulled up to it since I will have chairs at built in double desks? Also, I would love to be able to keep my leather chairs if they would work. I just need help all the way around. The room is 162" from window to hallway and 116" from center of built in to foyer.

I would say not to overcrowd the space.
Maybe put your desk chairs in then use it for a while. You might appreciate having room to spin around, kick your feet out, etc

Adding a coffee or writing table in middle will be too crowded. Instead pull chairs a bit more into middle and add a small table next to each and an ottoman. If you need a writing table, place under window and the remove chair.

Accessorizing: jewel toned rug, cushion/throw on chair(s) and a set of prints flanking both sides of door. Not sure if you want wheels on desk chairs

I'd remove the 2 chairs and put a console/writing table on the wall in their place. Then add artwork above the consoles/writing table. Then put nothing in the middle of the floor.

What kind of work do you do here? If you need to lay out items/projects on a larger space, such as the writing table or a library table, I would put it in the center under the fan. The chairs go well with the blue of the cabinetry. Maurene has some good suggestions for accessorizing.

I don't necessarily need a writing table for space . . . I was just trying to make the room look the best it could. Would you suggest putting the table horizontal or vertical to the built in? A decorator I know said I needed something in the middle of the room.

Consider a glass-topped table to act as a desk with a metal leg base. Select a patterned Persian style rug.

My question is where to place table in room and I doubt I have room for 3 chairs so would you push office chairs under the two built in desks and leave table without a chair or suggestions??

I edited my post to include info on table. Not sure if you can see updated post. It referenced placing table under window and remove one leather chair. The other chair could be pulled into room a bit more and add an ottoman and a side table, as you felt middle of room was bare. When u need a chair at table, move one over from desk

What do you think of this rug in 8 x 10? Floor space is aprox 9 1/2 X 13 1/2.

I could see a rug with more saturated blue and rust. Not sure if looking for wool, as this one is polyester but I really like the depth of the colors

I do like it even though I was hoping to find one a little less expensive and the review said color was not true to pic. What about this one?

Like 😀. It’s impactful and pattern is a bit different.

Did you put anything in the middle of room besides the rug or on other walls?
