How did the roots look when you repotted? Was it in harsh sun? Is the black part crunchy? When was the last time you watered it? How often are you watering?

Yes that black tip could definitely be residual from before, if it had been "severely overwatered" before you repotted. You'll know for sure when the next leaf after that one starts to develop. It should be all green and remain isolated away from the black. Monstera are really good at outgrowing just about anything if you give it decent average houseplant conditions.

Thank you @User and @Tom H. I did inspect the roots during repotting and some were rotten and others looked unhealthy. I did try and cut out as much of the unhealthy roots. maybe I didn’t get it all.

I water when the first 1-2 inches of the soil is dry (roughly every 7 days). I water thoroughly and make sure my pot is well draining.

the brown part of the leaf is not “crunchy”, it’s actually quite soft.

I checked on her again this morning and it looks like another growth is coming from the same stem and it looks healthy.
