Can you just have the gold colored chair with a small round table next to it? A couple of books on the table or a plant?

Pull the chairs forward from the corners. If you do have a small table to put between them with a fresh bouquet of flowers (raid someone's garden) or a leafy green plant on it, it will help add some interest to that side of the room. You need to add some colorful throw pillows on your couch. Do you have a brighter, bigger piece of art you could lean on your mantle? Remove the other stuff. If you don't have one, could you borrow one from family or friends while you are selling?

I would remove all the furniture ....

This is looking better. If you can find a solid pillow the color of the right hand chair to put on the left hand chair that will help pull them together. Now find some art for the wall. Could be family pics in arrangements. You could consider a shared round ottoman in leather if you like putting your feet up.

It does look better. Personally, I would keep only the golden armchair and have the table next to it. I think the two armchairs together is too much (they seem too large for the space). The lamp is fine, too, but if you could use a floor lamp next to the armchair, that would work better. Have some books on the table and a small vase with fresh flowers on top.Instead of the other armchair, have a large plant.

I do have throw pillows the same color as the solid chair, I will use those. & I will try eliminating the chair on the right to see how that feels. Thanks again all!

I think the chair with the ottoman looks really comfy....but I would remove the other chair because I think it makes the area look cramped. Also, I think the striped chair and ottoman would look better on the other side.

I really like those alcoves on either side of the fireplace. Maybe you could get a couple of inexpensive stick up lights and put them, one in each alcove ceiling to really show them off as the wonderful design features that they are. Not big bulky lights, just small ones with white canisters....hopefully. Good Luck!

You want to create vignettes that make the prospective buyers say, "We're home!" The chair with ottoman looks comfy while the other one look rigid and not comfortable. Less is more, so rent a storage building if you need to and minimize, creating a purpose for each room and a vignette that appeals to people's nesting instincts.

Not a fan of the plaid chair and ottoman but the area looks a little empty without it. Do you have a small chair like a wooden armchair or similar to balance the beige chair? A low bench (no arms or back) along the windows would also look nice. I have one I use it doubles as an end table and extra seating.
