Roses In The House -- 107 Degrees.

It's not that all that much is blooming right now, but most of what IS -- is being cooked. It hit 107 degrees, at mid-day, here, where I can see the ocean in the far distance. That's insane.

When it was already in the 90's, I went out and picked buds, to open in the house . . . "Jesse Hildreth," 'Lady Ann Kidwell', and "Elisabeth's China," because that was what at least had buds, and I knew all of them would open in a vase.

'Mme. Lambard' opened outside . . .

Blessedly, the wind has turned, and the temperature has dropped -- 20 degrees.

Ugh...Jeri, knowing what you're contending with, I will NOT complain if we get the early frost they're predicting here for tonight. And as usual, your indoor pics are lovely.

The only teas I have blooming right now are Maman Cochet (three blooms, lol), Bassoues Tea (two blooms), a few buds on Rosette Delizy. They should make it to continue blooming if it stays above freezing. My Chinas are about the same, mostly a bloom here and there, except for Hermosa and Old Blush, which are in full flush. Hermosa is the only one I picked to bring in before tonight, and you can't miss what I picked!

I'm hoping it stays above freezing tonight, and I'm wishing some of our cool air out your way.

That’s crazy! I am 30-40 miles inland and only 95, but a very dry wind this morning so I picked a lot of roses to bring inside.
