Not only would it be too hard to maintain, it would probably be very dangerous. Marble is very slippery when wet and it will be wet in the shower! Marble also stains easily. Consider a different tile at least for the floor.

Honed marble with a lot of grout lines should be fine. I put this in after a little research. You need to seal it properly and reseal it every year to keep it from staining, as Jill mentioned, that is a factor. Maybe sealing is an issue, and keeping grout clean, that's something I hate, so that makes it harder to maintain, to answer your question more directly.

An Honest response? Get a porcelain mosaic. Yes, you can seal these. However.....................a very honest tile store will tell you don't do them and especially do not in pale colors. Truth is brutal. : )

I had these in my last house with white urethane grout. With all that grout there was plenty of traction, and they were fine to keep clean.
